ABOUT
Ocean Dix is a Toronto-based vocalist, actor, and voice director working at the intersection of performance, identity, and embodied expression.
Raised in the Alberta prairies and later trained in England, Ocean’s work moves between stage, screen, and studio with a singular focus: helping queer voices take up space without apology.
As a performer, they have written and appeared in cabarets, plays, and new musical development, including a made-for-TV musical project in collaboration with Juno Winner and Grammy Nominee Pablosky Rosales of Cubanismo. Their creative work often draws from their experience growing up trans in a conservative environment, exploring themes of rupture, reclamation, and self-possession.
Ocean is co-founder of Camp on Fire Productions, where they write and produce character-driven film projects in collaboration with Canadian creatives whose credits include Schitt’s Creek, Kim’s Convenience, and Star Trek.
Alongside their film work, Ocean is the founder of Out There Singing, a Toronto-based voice studio dedicated to technical excellence and gender-affirming vocal training. Their approach blends high-level vocal technique with psychological depth, helping singers build voices that feel powerful, embodied, and fully their own.
Whether in front of the camera, on stage, or in the studio, Ocean’s work is rooted in one principle:
You do not need to shrink to be heard.
